State's college-grad ranking slips

Michigan ranks 37th in the nation for residents with college degrees, slipping from 35th in 2000, according to a Wayne State University study. Although the number of residents with college degrees has actually increased, gains in other states have offset the rise in Michigan, according to Kurt Metzger, research director in WSU's Center for Urban Studies.
